House rules

We want to present and protect our works of art in the best possible way and ensure the quality of each visit. It is also important to us that your visit is as comfortable as possible. Therefore, we kindly ask you to respect our house rules.

  1. Every museum visitor must be in possession of a valid admission ticket.
  2. Always follow the instructions of our staff.
  3. Do not touch the artworks, unless it specifically indicated that you can.
  4. You can only pay with a debit or credit card at Voorlinden.
  5. Coats and small bags are allowed in the museum. The maximum size is A4. All bags that are larger, all types of backpacks and umbrellas are not allowed and can be stored in a free locker or left in the unguarded cloakroom. Voorlinden management is not responsible for theft or loss of your belongings.
  6. You can take photographs or film in the museum and estate, but for personal use only and without a flash, tripod or selfie stick. Please take other visitors into account. It is not allowed to photograph for publicity purposes without permission.
  7. Voorlinden has the right to check the luggage of every visitor. You can be asked for your cooperation when our staff requests the inspection of bags and other items.
  8. Writing and drawing is allowed in the museum, but only with pencil. Writing against the walls is not allowed.
  9. You are not allowed to eat and drink in the museum or to consume food and drinks that you brought along on the estate.
  10. Smoking is prohibited in the entire estate, including the restaurant.
  11. Animals are not allowed in the museum, except for registered service dogs. Keep dogs on a leash to protect the wildlife and birds. Please do not leave your dog unattended when visiting the museum or the restaurant.
  12. Museum Voorlinden is easily accessible for people with a disability. Assistive devices such as wheelchairs, rollators, mobility scooters, assistive canes or walking sticks and balance bikes are allowed. Are you unable to visit the museum on your own?   13. The museum has wheelchairs available for visitors with tires that are suited for the floor of the museum. Reserving a wheelchair in advance is possible. Read more.
  14. Baby walkers and buggies are allowed in Museum Voorlinden; segways, skateboards, scooters, roller skates and nordic walking sticks are not. These can be stowed in the cloak room.
  15. Don’t let children run, frolic or scream. Stay together as a family.
  16. Voorlinden invites visitors to talk about art. Please respect your fellow visitors and limit loud or troublesome noise. Telephone calls are allowed in the entrance hall, but not in other areas of the museum.
  17. You can not bring your own tour guide. However, you can book a private tour by one of our enthusiastic guides.
  18. For your own safety and that of the artworks we use video surveillance, inside and outside of the buildings.
  19. You are responsible for all damage you cause to artworks, estate and buildings of Voorlinden.
  20. Voorlinden is authorized to deny your access to the museum, restaurant and estate when you do not respect our house rules.
