Award-winning harpist Marleen de Bakker performs regularly as a soloist and in chamber music settings. She is also in great demand as an orchestral harpist and plays regularly with, for example, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, North Netherlands Orchestra and Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra. At Voorlinden, she will play a solo for harp by Nino Rata and by Benjamin Britten.

The four young, ambitious and passionate string players of the Felix Quartet found each other in their common love for chamber music. Together, they create a unique voice in chamber music with their virtuosic, intimate and fiery performance. Previously, the string quartet performed together with the European Union Youth Orchestra and the Academy of the Royal Concertgebouw during their studies. At Voorlinden, they will play work by Shostakovich and Beethoven.

Matteo Myderwyk trained as a classical pianist, but soon broke away from old musical heroes such as Bach, Liszt and Messiaen. He dived into the world of free-jazz and learned to improvise with different types of instruments. Now he breaks with traditions and invents his own neo-classical compositions. He now has seven albums to his name, including the most recent Veluwe Suite, for which he was nominated for an Edison. At Voorlinden, he will play his compositions A brief nostalgia (2023) and Renaissance (2024).

Clarinet and string quartet; one of the most magical chamber music ensembles one can find. Clarinettist Gerbrich Meijer is a finalist of Dutch Classical Talent and is studying for her soloist diploma at the Royal Conservatory in Copenhagen. Together with the ADAM Quartet, which is accompanied by Marc Danel at the Dutch String Quartet Academy (NSKA), she will perform Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s famous clarinet quintet. They will also perform works by the British-African Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and the African-American Florence Price. These modern-classical composers wrote beautiful music at the end of the 19th and early 20th century, but then unjustly fell into oblivion.
