On Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 June 2025, the NATO summit will take place in The Hague. This will affect traffic and accessibility in and around the city by both car and bicycle. If you are coming to Voorlinden during this period, please anticipate possible delays whilst travelling to and from Wassenaar in April, May and June.
Accessibility of Wassenaar in June
Dozens of world leaders, ministers and thousands of delegation members will meet at the World Forum in The Hague on Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 June 2025. Road-users throughout the Randstad can expect severe disruption on the days around the summit. From 22 to 26 June there will be (temporary and partial) closures of (motor)ways, slip-roads, viaducts and tunnels on the A5, A4, A44 and N44, with congestion and delays also on regional and local roads in and around The Hague and Wassenaar. Rijkswaterstaat advises avoiding the Randstad from Sunday 22 to Thursday 26 June and adjusting your travel plans accordingly – for example by not travelling during the rush hours and by using public transport.
Summary of planned traffic disruptions
- From The Hague: Johan de Wittlaan closed: from Monday 14 April the Johan de Wittlaan will be completely closed to all traffic. All carriageways between Eisenhowerlaan and the start of President Kennedylaan will remain closed until early August. This closure may cause congestion and queues. Please allow extra journey time and follow the diversion routes.
