On Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 June 2025, dozens of world leaders, ministers and thousands of delegation members will come to the World Forum in The Hague for the NATO Summit. From 22 June to 26 June, there will therefore be (temporary and partial) closures of (motorway) roads, slip roads and flyovers and tunnels in and around the city. Will you be visiting Voorlinden during this period? Please take possible traffic disruption into account during this period – both by car and bicycle.
Are you travelling by car to Voorlinden during the NATO summit?
The route from The Hague via the N44 and N14 is open when no delegation is passing. The route is closed on Monday evening 23 June, Tuesday morning 24 June and Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday evening 25 June. Precise times are still unclear.
The route from Katwijk via the N206 will remain open except during a short closure when a delegation passes. Use the Kooltuinweg for the diversions on the N206.
Are you travelling by bike to Voorlinden during the NATO summit?
The cycle route from The Hague via the cycle bridge over the N440 is only open when no NATO delegations are passing. The route will be closed on Monday evening 23 June, Tuesday morning 24 June and Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday evening 25 June. Precise times are still unclear.
You can use the cycle path along Hotel Van der Valk to get to Wassenaar during period of the NATO summits. Cycle past the houses on the unpaved road along Rijksstraatweg. About the height of Wassenaar-south Pharmacy, you can pass under the N44 via the Kerkehout tunnel for cyclists and pedestrians. The tunnel ends on the Verlengde Kerkboslaan in Wassenaar. There, turn right and then left into the Kerkboslaan. Continue along Stoeplaan and turn left into Sophialaan. At the end you will find the Buurtweg, turn left and within 5 minutes you will see Voorlinden on your right.
Are you travelling by public transport to Voorlinden during the NATO Summit?
There are no restrictions on the railway, but there are no buses from transport company EBS to, through or from Wassenaar during peak times. More information is currently unavailable. You may be able to rent an ov-fiets. Den Haag Centraal has the most bikes available.

Summary of planned traffic disruptions
- From The Hague: Johan de Wittlaan closed: from Monday 14 April the Johan de Wittlaan will be completely closed to all traffic. All carriageways between Eisenhowerlaan and the start of President Kennedylaan will remain closed until early August. This closure may cause congestion and queues. Please allow extra journey time and follow the diversion routes.
View diversions from 14 April - A5: closed in both directions between the Raasdorp interchange (A9) and the Hoek interchange (A4) from Sunday afternoon 22 June until Friday morning 27 June.
- A4: two lanes closed in the direction of The Hague between the Hoek interchange and the Burgerveen interchange from Sunday afternoon 22 June until Friday morning 27 June. The lanes will be separated by barriers. The Den Ruygen Hoek service area on the A4 towards The Hague will also be closed from Sunday afternoon until Friday morning.
- A44: closed in the direction of The Hague between the Burgerveen interchange and Wassenaar from Sunday evening 22 June until Friday morning 27 June.
- N44: closed in both directions between The Hague and Rozenweg in Wassenaar from Sunday evening 22 June until Friday morning 27 June.
- On Wednesday afternoon and evening 25 June the A44/N44 towards Amsterdam will also be closed.
- N440 (from the N44 via the Hubertustunnel to the World Forum in The Hague) closed in both directions from Sunday afternoon 22 June until Friday morning 27 June.
- N434 (Corbulo route) closed in both directions on Wednesday afternoon and evening 25 June.
Impact on your visit to Voorlinden
We recommend that you follow Rijkswaterstaat’s advice as closely as possible and prepare your journey in advance. Are you running late en route?
