On Sunday 20 November at 10:00 a.m., Amsterdam pianist Matteo Myderwyk (1990) will be performing a morning concert at Voorlinden!
Matteo trained as a classical pianist, but soon broke away from old musical heroes such as Bach, Liszt and Messiaen. He delved into the world of free-jazz and learned to improvise with different types of instruments. Now he prefers to break with traditions and invent his own compositions. He currently has seven albums to his name. He wrote the most recent, Veluwe Suite, after he and his girlfriend traded the busy Randstad for the Veluwe. ‘During my daily walks, the idea soon arose to dedicate a new collection of piano compositions to this beautiful area of nature.’
Veluwe Suite also features Prélude, which is used in the radio spots, TV commercial and build-up film for the Giuseppe Penone exhibition. You can enjoy these dreamy compositions, and more, at his special morning concert at Voorlinden. Afterwards, you can also visit the museum.
When: Sunday 20 November
Start: 10 a.m. (walk-in from 9.45 a.m.)
Ticket: €39.50 (including museum ticket €19.50)
