Walks on the Voorlinden estate and the Wassenaar dunes
A walk during the summer holidays is the ideal outing for nature lovers and those seeking peace and quiet. The Voorlinden estate lies on the edge of the Wassenaar Dunes and is freely accessible. Around the museum, you can stroll through the Piet Oudolf Garden, a unique living artwork with more than sixty species of perennials and ornamental grasses – worth visiting all year round.
From the museum, you can take a walk of about 45 minutes through woodland, dune meadows and the dune landscape of Voorlinden. From the highest dune, you can see the North Sea on a clear day, and along the way you’ll encounter the impressive Anselm Kiefer’s towers.
The unpaved path eventually leads you back to the museum – perfect for combining walking and culture during the summer holidays.
Dogs are welcome on the estate, provided they are kept on a lead to protect wildlife and birds.
